Alberto Battaglini, the acclaimed mixologist at S.Y. Kitchen, presents four new spring cocktails inspired by the warming temperatures, local market produce and botanicals. In addition to the restaurant’s list of specialty drinks, Battaglini now offers four dazzling new cocktails – the Sorriso di Venezia, Rosso di Sera, Verdana and the Meraviglioso. All spring cocktails are priced at $15.

A native of Verona and school chum of Chef Luca Crestanelli, Alberto Battaglini learned the fundamentals of cooking and food service at Scuola Alberghiera in Italy. His unbridled passion for spirits took him to London where he met his mentor, Ian Slater. Following work in Spain and Mexico, Alberto settled in the Santa Ynez Valley to lead the bar program at S.Y. Kitchen. At S.Y. Kitchen, Battaglini’s hand-crafted drinks are a stunning complement to the cuisine of Chef Crestanelli.

On Tuesday, April 21, Battaglini will host a cocktail class featuring his seasonal specialties. The lesson will include a welcome cocktail, recipes, detail of methods and S.Y. Kitchen appetizers. Pricing for the class is $75. Hours are from 5-7 p.m. and class size is limited to 10.
