Blue Point Brewing Company Bringing Its Boatyard To Your Backyard

What: Blue Point Brewing Company calls Patchogue’s shoreline home, but this June the brewery is packing up its award-winning beers, rounding up the brewers and its seafood educators to bring Blue Point’s boatyard to your backyard. The Blue Point Toasted Tour Boatyard Bash is open to the public and taking over Freeport on June 20, 2015 for a day of seafood and beer events.

Boatyard Bash
Blue Point brings the party to E.B. Elliot’s for an afternoon of games, prizes, music and its award-winning brews. Consumers also get to meet the brewers and taste and learn about Blue Point's stellar lineup. Demos include oyster shucking classes, growler painting and chef seminars.
Renowned Chef Hugue Dufour of 3-Star M. Wells in Long Island City brings his talent to the tent for two interactive seminars:
1) Cooking with Blue Point: Old Missouri cheddar fondue with Toasted Lager, little neck clams and bread.
2) Pairing Blue Point with seafood: Lobster roll in a sushi box served with White Lager.
Time: 2-7pm
Price: Free entrance, food & beer available for purchase. Seminars are free on a first-come basis.
Buoy Cruise
Explore the Freeport area in an all new and adventurous way on the high seas. The cruise includes scavenger hunt complete with challenges, Blue Point beer samples and prizes.
Time: 3-5pm
Price: $10 participation donation, proceeds go to the Sea Tow Foundation
Who: Anyone 21 and over is welcome to come and enjoy the fun!

About Chef Hugue Dufour/M. Wells:
Hugue Dufour’s culinary journey began on a farm in Quebec, where as a child, he absorbed his grandmother’s penchant for cooking. After a brief stint in culinary school, Dufour found his mentor in legendary chef, Martin Picard of Au Pied De Cochon, in Montreal. Under Picard’s influence, Dufour developed his own distinct style, becoming the subject of a documentary, a cookbook album and a TV show. In 2010, Dufour and wife, Sarah Obraitis, first opened M. Wells Dinette in Long Island City before eventually converting an auto-body shop in the same neighborhood into their newest addition, M. Wells Steakhouse. Hugue defies convention, serving up mammoth portions of wood-fired meats, innovative seafood dishes and sides.
