CHEF PATRICK O’CONNELL EVENT LAUNCHES EXCITING FALL CULINARY SEASON AT FEARRINGTON VILLAGE

Fearrington Village, N.C. (September 15, 2015). Fearrington Village kicked off an exciting fall season of culinary events on September 13th with a luncheon featuring legendary Chef Patrick O’Connell of The Inn at Little Washington. An exquisite three-course menu, prepared by Fearrington’s Executive Chef Colin Bedford, highlighted Chef O’Connell’s recipes and celebrated his newest book, The Inn at Little Washington: A Magnificent Obsession.

Guests enjoyed Chef O’Connell’s Watermelon-Raspberry Smash cocktail before being ushered into Fearrington’s Garden Terrace, where they were served truffle parmesan popcorn, the signature amuse bouche at The Inn at Little Washington. The menu also featured Cucumber Vichyssoise Soup, Tenderloin of Beef and Lobster with Sweet Corn Sauté and Red Bell Pepper Coulis and a Windblow Peach Melba, with wines by Fearrington’s wine director, Maximilan Kast.

Following Chef O’Connell, beloved author Ruth Reichl is next in the spotlight on October 15th at a lunch at The Fearrington Barn to celebrate her newest cookbook, My Kitchen Year: 136 Recipes that Saved My Life. The event will feature recipes that helped Reichl heal after the sudden closure of Gourmet magazine in 2009.

Looking ahead, The Fearrington House is proud to host Chef Daniel Humm and Will Guidara co-owners of famed New York City restaurants Eleven Madison Park and The NoMad, along with Bar Director Leo Robitschek, on Sunday, November 8th for a dinner celebrating The NoMad Cookbook & Cocktail Book.

The four-course menu crafted by Chef Bedford will feature recipes from the cookbook, and the subsequent wine pairings will highlight cocktail recipes from The NoMad. The dinner combines two highly regarded and awarded restaurant teams for one event, ensuring a night to remember.

All three culinary events are part of Fearrington’s popular Cooks & Books series, a collaboration between The Fearrington House Restaurant and McIntyre’s Books. Every event attendee receives an autographed cookbook with his or her ticket purchase.
