Apple Martini

Adapted by
Yield: 2 (4-ounce) servings

4 ounces vodka
2 ounces Berentzen Apple Liquor
2 ounces green apple puree (see recipe below)
Green Apple Purée
1-2 green apples, peeled, cored and chopped
1/2 cup simple syrup, or as needed (see recipe below)
Simple Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water

Pour ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake well for about 10 seconds. Strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with an apple wheel.

Green Apple Purée
Combine chopped apples and simple syrup (as needed) in a blender, and purée until smooth. Use the purée as soon as possible or it will turn brown. Do not be tempted to add lemon to this mixture-it will ruin the taste.

Simple Syrup
Combine equal parts sugar and water in a sauce pot and bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook just until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool before using.
